Finally……the Fourth Shinobi World War comes back to life, or so it seems…phew. I had almost started to sleepwalk through the weekly manga, and sometimes, even missing a week and reading two of them later. But (as there is always a BUT), the prospects are still very gloomy, and this may just prove to be a dud. I am not going to expect much.
When the war started, shippuden was at the peak of its vigor. Since then, it has been slacking and plummeting further and further downwards. There have been only a few chance interesting occurences since then. Madara has always been a delight to watch, Allied Forces suck badly though. Barring Kisame‘s capture, Gold and Silver brothers, and one or two incidents (giving concession), the whole War has been a big dud, the whole Impure World resurrected shinobi looked exciting, but has been proved a big failure. Naruto‘s training with Bee was frustrating right from the start. Only now, the show seems to have started to stir a little bit.
Now that Madara’s begun to cook something new, and zetsu clones have infiltrated the army, looks like a small chunk of action is again going to come to us. Only a small one though, i am pretty sure about that. Naruto and Bee are passing time with Raikage and Tsunade, lolling around and pronouncing ‘brassiere’ instead of ‘brother’ ;). They won’t be stepping in the war for a second until the time Madara makes his last move, Sasuke Uchiha. So we may as well forget them for the moment.
But even this is not enough. All the good things are missing. For countless lives dying everyday, there’s not a bit of emotion anywhere. I watched Kakashi chronicles in between and that was the perfect blend of war and emotions. People are dying, killing almost mechanically. All the big guys are drooling in the background or completely absent. Kabuto, Naruto, Bee etc. And most importantly Sasuke Uchiha. He must have died from boredom, while waiting for his eyes to heal,
and Madara is hiding the info from all of us, including Kishimoto 😀 :D.
Day by day, war is wearing me more and more, and somebody didn’t do anything uniquely bloody and interesting, i’d have to renounce and become a pacifist like Itachi 😉
Somebody has said it right: Wars look romantic only in retrospect. Applies perfectly in Narutoverse.
